I'm Arun. I build things, take data apart, and write about whatever I'm currently trying to understand.
My training runs from aerospace engineering through an MBA in business analytics to an MSc in data analytics. That's a long way of saying I keep coming back to one question: what is this system actually doing, and how would we know? Engineering gave me the habit of checking claims against measurements. The MBA added the part engineers skip — a correct answer nobody acts on is worth nothing.
Away from the work I care about the unglamorous side of self development — habits, attention, doing the thing on the day you don't feel like it — and about travelling, which is the fastest way I know to find out how little I know.
This site is all of it in one place. Less a portfolio, more a workbench with the lights left on.
Studying
Jan 2026 —Dissertation on microservices consolidation. Python, containers, and a lot of measuring.
Working
2023 — 2025Joined as a trainee and left as a BA II. Requirements gathering, wireframes, epics and acceptance criteria, sprint planning and the scrum ceremonies around it — Jira and Confluence all day. The part I got better at was hunting edge cases before user testing found them.
Studied
2021 — 2023Where analysis met decisions, incentives, and the cost of being right too late.
Alongside
2019 — 2020Trained and flew solo. Checklists, instruments, and deciding alone — a useful education in working under load.
Started with
2018Four years in a field with no tolerance for hand-waving. The habit stuck.
